One of Germany's hottest and most promising acts in the melodic death metal genre are doubtlessly FRAGMENTS OF UNBECOMING. This four-piece is distinctly influenced by the glorious 'New Wave Of Swedish Death Metal', but instead of cloning all the latest Gothenburg kings these guys are deeply rooted and dedicated to the early days of this once so fantastic and breathtaking movement. The songwriting is very diverse and varied, the riffing truly razor sharp aggressive and heavy & last but not least these guys come up with outstanding hooklines as well as some marvellous instrumentals like "Summer Solstice" or "Opening My Heaven's Gate". Yeah, this stunning debut release delivers similar great feelings as immortal classics like "Ancient God Of Evil", "Spiteful Intents", "The Somberlain" or "Voice Of Harmony" did almost a decade ago. Besides the vast musical potential of "Bloodred Tales", this CD also comes up with an overwhelming cover artwork design, killer layout and over-the-top packaging including a card box. This is definitely the state of the art for all newcomer releases. Get this self-financed output before it's completely sold out since these guys meanwhile signed a contract with Metal Blade Records, congratulations by the way!
